The statue of this red-faced warrior with a long lush beard shouldn't be something new to you if you're a fan of Hong Kong's TV or movie. He’s an actual historical person who lived during the the Han Dynasty, serving the warlord Liu Bei, well-known for his bravery, strength, and loyalty. His name is Guan Yu, commonly called 【關公】(Guan Gung) in Hong Kong.
【關公】is commonly worshiped among Hong Kong communities, statues and shrines of him can be easily found in restaurants, shops, police stations, temples (even those are not dedicated to his name), and (but) also secret triad societies. He is the Chinese every-god; a symbol of everything from loyalty, protection to wealth.
When you visit Hong Kong next time, spot for him around or visit
